World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades can boost the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.
If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will gain 3percent of its previous damage for every time it is upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the current level of the item. The cost increases as the item's level rises.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets to give them a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players or looting. Certain upgrades also come with special cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments can be recovered by salvaging gear from the ascended, or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
An upgrade may be prefixed or a suffix changing the name of the equipment with which it is applied (for examplefor example 'Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with less Upgrade crystals than they would need to reach the same level using normal methods.
A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack characteristics of a weapon or armor. Once the player has completed the cutscene and defeated the Crazed Mechanist These upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them from the cash store for 500 upgrade crystals per.
Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher-tier version of the item will be revealed at the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of the extent to which it will improve following a subsequent reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be costly and it is likely that the item will eventually become obsolete, or even break, when the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when an upgrade fails. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate the chance of failure, and some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to improve the Paragon Board by placing them in special sockets. Glyphs can boost the performance of nodes within a radius, which includes any existing attaches. Glyphs can be upgraded many ways, and we recommend getting them to level 15 whenever you can.
In the endgame you'll find that the most effective way to upgrade your equipment is to use Glyphs. They are the only upgrade component which can be upgraded to level 15 and offer an enormous boost to your power on the Paragon Board.
Glyphs, the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again, are the most common. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and replace.
Each Glyph has a specific range of values that it can improve a statistic by. The value is displayed when you choose the Glyph in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is of the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs which you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will have to put them on your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a special bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes in a radius surrounding the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph, this will either be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs boost all nodes that are connected to them, which is why it is best to place Glyphs in key places on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For example that a Druid should aim to place their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes too.
Leveling
The item upgrading system allows players to increase the effectiveness of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is known as "upping". Each upgradeable item has a level which determines the final stats. Upgraded items can be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.
Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used to level up the item, and once enough are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and any additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player upgrades the equipment they have the original item will be replaced by a new item. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set of bonuses. This can be a downside since the item may be more expensive even if you don't require it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can reroll item upgrades . This will cause the item to be exchanged for a brand new one, which will come with an initial level and a completely different set of bonus bonuses. This can be beneficial, but shouldn't be done often as it can waste resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and allows the player to modify their gear. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an increase in power when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or swims like dolphins). It is possible to upgrade it several times, each time increasing the max roll by an increment of 10. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as an item that is properly rolled it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
The item upgrader allows players to raise the level of their equipment (armor weapons, weapons trinkets, and armor) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also boost the defense base of the item, and upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.
All items can be upgraded a maximum of five times, with the exception of hero gear that can have eight upgrades. Each time you upgrade an object it has a chance of failing. The probability of failure increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures can cause the item to go back to its original condition, which requires the user to spend more money on materials than they would had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item is not able to upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it has gained like crit chance damage to attack, other effects (such as increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.
When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to the highest. This means that if a weapon increases its crit chance that it will be applied prior to any damage to attack increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots. The cost of upgrading non-premium equipment is equivalent to its base value. For instance an item that is commonplace could have five upgrades for a price of. 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance--whereas hero grade items will come with an incredibly lower cost for each additional upgrade.
Premium items have different requirements for upgrading in comparison to standard equipment. For instance, they might require fewer sowels, but they will require more minerals and erons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. In addition to the upgrade costs mentioned above, each equipment upgrade requires a different amount of the upgrade ingredients.
